REN EVERCALM ULTRA COMFORTING RESCUE MASK & LANEIGE SLEEPING MASK
Piggybacking off the first blog piece of 2021 about achieving hydrated and moisturized skin, I figured I would share these amazing hydrating masks with you; The Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask and the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. The answers to keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized while you sleep. Let’s dive into this review.
Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask
Pros | Cons |
– Thick and creamy – Fragrance -free – Great packaging – Product lasts long ( at least 6 months+ depending on use) – Clean ingredients – Multiple ways to use the mask – Great for sensitive, dry, normal, combo skin types | – Pricey – May be too much for oily skin |
The pros and cons listed above gets right to the point on why The Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask, is one to add to anyone’s nightly regime. The thick, luxurious cream locks in moisture amazingly. The recommended use for this mask is to apply to damp skin for a few minutes then wipe off the excess product and to use this mask 2-3 nights per week. I go off label with my use of the mask, it’s too luxurious to wipe off any access.
I should mention The Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask contains no irritating products. Anyone can use it, it is a sensitive skin MUST! The mask is made with white mushroom extract, beta glucan from yeast and arnica extract. Ren is a clean skincare company; clean in product formulation and clean in their approach to minimizing their footprint on the Earth. Learn more about this company at Ren Clean Skincare.

How to use The Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask
Apply the mask as the last step in your nightly skincare routine, this seals in all the hydration you’ve just infused into your skin. It is suggested to use this mask when the skin is feeling overly sensitive. I find dry skin is VERY sensitive and I have been using this mask as explained previously every night. It is that good. This is where the packaging of this mask is paramount. It’s in an air tight pouch, housed in a compact, circular pump bottle. This means no contamination of the product and the most efficient use is guaranteed. A slight pump or half, will expel enough product to coat your face with a generous amount of this mask. You will wake up with skin that is smooth to touch instead of dry flaky tight skin.
For those with oily or even combination skin, I would suggest using this product as suggested. You may not need a thick luxurious cream sitting on your face all night, if your skin is able to stay moisturized on its own. Use a pump or a half pump on damp skin, gently remove the access with a damp cloth and immediately continue with your nighttime routine.
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask
Pros | Cons |
– Cool to touch gel – Feels like a glass of water for your skin – Very hydrating – Gentle fragrance – Can be used all year round – Beneficial to all skin types – Lasts long (at least 1 year) | – Pricey – Packaging |
The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is a light, overnight gel mask formulated with hydro ionized mineral water and calm, naturally occurring fragrances that pack a hydration punch! Laneige is a Korean skincare company that has been setting some serious skincare bars in North America. We may not realize it but Laneige and other Korean skincare companies, are miles ahead in skincare research. Click here for more information on this and other Laniege products.
How I Use The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

I go off label with this product as well. It is suggested to use this mask as a last step in your nightly skincare routine; the product remains on the skin overnight. The gel formulation of this product reminds me of a serum on the thicker side. With that in mind, I apply the The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, after my serums and prescriptions but before my moisturizer and face oils. I don’t see how the rather light consistency of this mask will be beneficial to my skin after I have completed my skincare routine. The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask goes on super smooth and is quickly absorbed into the skin. My skin drinks in the product like a glass of water.

The Farmacy Hydrating Coconut Gel Sheet
I’m throwing one more hydrating product into the mix that I’m finding beneficial this winter; The Farmacy Hydrating Coconut Gel Sheet Mask. This mask takes self care to the next level. “It is a coconut-water-infused sheet mask with ultra-hydrating hyaluronic acid and cucumber extract to help skin appear healthier and glowing.” Sephora.com

This sheet mask is removed from the packaging and applied to the skin for 10 – 15 min. It can be purchased at, you guessed it, Sephora for $8. I use this mask twice. There is a lot of product in this package and it would be a travesty to waste it. So, once you’ve finished with the mask in round one, with clean hands, remove the mask and place it back into the package. Be sure to seal it nicely to keep it from drying out. I secure the package by placing it in a Ziploc bag.
This mask leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated with a definite glow. I smooth in any excess product left on my face after removing the mask and continue with my nightly skincare routine. Conclusion
I cannot say this enough; hydrated and moisturized skin is for ALL skin types! Drying out your skin even oily and acne prone skin, is not the way to go and will certainly make matters worse.
